We recently finished a beautiful Cottesloe home exterior refresh – and the results speak for themselves. As a leading exterior painter in the Cottesloe area, we were the natural choice for the job. Slatted timber facades create a beautiful, beachy aesthetic – perfect for the suburb of Cottesloe – but they also require maintenance to keep them looking good and to ensure they protect your home from the elements. Our client took the opportunity to change the look of their home while maintaining their timber exteriors.
The job
Cooper & Sons was contracted to give a facelift to this Cottesloe home while ensuring the finish was of the highest standard to withstand the seaside elements. We started with our preparation process, stripping the previous finish and getting the surface ready for the new timber stain. As you can see from the pictures, the wooden slats had become quite faded so we primed the timber for even coverage with the new stain.
Next came the staining process. We used Sikkens Ebony Stain to achieve the darker and more modern look our clients wanted to achieve. Sikkens is known for its high transparency, so even with a dark stain like the Ebony colour, the natural grain of the wood shows through. This product is also great for durability and UV protection – which we all know is important to withstand the WA heat!
The results
We think the dark stain was a great choice for this home! We painted the exterior of the house as well as the fence to create a coordinated and sophisticated finish.
